April 28 – Come On Out of the Tomb

So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me." When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth." The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go." Therefore many of the Jews who came to Mary, and saw what He had done, believed in Him. John 11:41-45

Jesus yelled for Lazarus to come out of the grave. Do you think that Lazarus would have heard Him if He whispered? Did Jesus speak loudly for the benefit of Lazarus or just to get the crowds' total attention? He has spoken to us in scripture telling us to come and follow Him, to watch and pray, and to be ready for His return.

RSVP: Does Jesus have to yell to get your attention? Listen closely. Then respond to what Jesus is saying to you. "Come" or "Watch and pray" or "Be ready...." Are you listening? How will you respond to His voice today?

Prayer~ Jesus, I'm listening for your call and I'm watching for the signs of the times.
