Can You Give God Glory?

Prayer – Lord, glory, glory, glory be to You, creator of everything—and we will one day see Your glorious creation of the New Heaven and New Earth. What a day that will be—to see You sitting on Your throne—being worshipped—by the angels and by men. You are worthy!

Will you lay your crown at the Lord's throne?
Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say, "You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased." Revelation 4:9-11

Meditate. Consider that God is worthy of our praise, glory, and honor.

These “living beings” were not human nor were they demonic beasts, but were likely angelic creatures. Ezekiel describes angels in his vision to be very similar, but with even more detail than those described by John in Revelation 4:6-7.

As I looked, I saw a great storm coming from the north, driving before it a huge cloud that flashed with lightning and shone with brilliant light. There was fire inside the cloud, and in the middle of the fire glowed something like gleaming amber. From the center of the cloud came four living beings that looked human, except that each had four faces and four wings. Their legs were straight, and their feet had hooves like those of a calf and shone like burnished bronze. Under each of their four wings I could see human hands. So each of the four beings had four faces and four wings. The wings of each living being touched the wings of the beings beside it. Each one moved straight forward in any direction without turning around. Each had a human face in the front, the face of a lion on the right side, the face of an ox on the left side, and the face of an eagle at the back. Each had two pairs of outstretched wings--one pair stretched out to touch the wings of the living beings on either side of it, and the other pair covered its body. Ezekiel 1:4-11

God is very creative in the creatures He has created—whether on earth or in heaven. These living beings are not scary—just different from what we see every day. Holy—and beyond our imagination for now.

God is worthy of our praise—just as these twenty-four elders recognized that they were unworthy to be wearing crowns and placed them at the feet of the Lord God as they worshipped Him. May we give God glory for His creation and the grace He bestows on us.

Verse of Salvation ~ All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:3-8

Knowing the Lord is what life is all about.

Knowing Him is Life.

Happy Birthday Blessings Melissa!
