Be Diligent Not Indifferent

Prayer – Lord Jesus, open my eyes to my own behavior—let me see me as You see me. I don’t want to be ambivalent. I want to care about others…loving them as I should love myself…and You. I’m opening my heart to You, Lord. Come in today—come in to stay. Fill me with Your love that I may be victorious for You.

Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the message from the one who is the Amen—the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's new creation: "I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, 'I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches." Revelation 3:14-22

Day 2 of the Church at Laodicea.

Meditate. Can you hear the Holy Spirit speaking to you? Are you listening? Are you understanding?

Second floor door to nowhere.
Jerusalem, Israel

Are you willing to open the door to your heart?

Be diligent and turn from your indifference. Are you so caught up in yourself that you can’t see what is going on around you…or listen to the voice of God teaching and prophesying. Jesus is right there at the door of your heart. Can you hear Him knocking? He’s a gentleman and won’t come in without being invited. Can you extend an invitation to Him—as He is to you? What’s for supper? I hope it isn’t leg of lamb. He is the Lamb of God. How about some apples and peanut butter, a nice salad with brisket, veggies and chickpeas, or some salmon salad? He’s eager to eat a meal with you. We only share meals with those we love—so be sure to include Him on your guest list.

Have you had an occasion recently to sing that song “Victory in Jesus?” If not, Google the words and sing it…Victory in Jesus/my Savior forever…. He will be overjoyed to hear your confession. You may even want to repent before you sing it…to make it even more heartfelt, smiling as you sing it. Jesus has promised that those who are victorious will sit with Him on His throne. It must be an enormous throne for everyone to fit on it with Him. See you there?!

Verse of Salvation ~ Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen. Jude 1:24-25
