As Jesus was starting out on his way to
Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, "Good
Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "Why do you call me
good?" Jesus asked. "Only God is truly good. But to answer your
question, you know the commandments: 'You must not murder. You must not commit
adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat
anyone. Honor your father and mother.'" "Teacher," the man
replied, "I've obeyed all these commandments since I was young."
Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. "There is still one
thing you haven't done," he told him. "Go and sell all your
possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in
heaven. Then come, follow me." At this the man's face fell, and he went
away sad, for he had many possessions. Mark 10:17-22
What
must I do to inherit eternal life….to be saved...to be born again? Jesus
had a similar conversation with the Pharisee Nicodemus. [Read John 3:1-21.]
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth,
unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God." ... And as
Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man
must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John

There you go. You can be saved…by the grace
of God. It is a free gift. You cannot earn it, be rewarded by working for it, or buy it. God freely gives it to us…if we
ask.

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by
obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you
believed the message you heard about Christ. Galatians 3:2

And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do

Obedience is the key. Listen and obey. You
will have not only eternal life…but an abundant life—spiritually in Christ
Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Prayer~
Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your obedience and sacrifice that we might have
eternal life with You. Thank You, Heavenly Father…for Your miraculous plan for
our salvation…for we are all sinners. Now, by your grace—we can be saved…we are
saved from our sin. We are awakened to a glorious life with You…with Christ…with
the Holy Spirit. I praise You.
