In the vision of Isaiah—the Lord spoke…
When you lift up your hands in prayer, I
will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands
are covered with the blood of innocent victims. Wash yourselves and be clean!
Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways. Learn to do good. Seek
justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights
of widows. "Come now, let's settle this," says the LORD. "Though
your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are
red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool. If you will only obey me,
you will have plenty to eat. But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you
will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the LORD, have spoken!" Isaiah
1:15-20
Pure White Flowers - Sinless Before the Throne |
Changed from red to pure white. Life
without sin—sparkling white. This is a classic passage. Every new Christian has
probably heard this verse (v.18). God was addressing the rulers of Sodom and
people of Gomorrah—yet His message is for all mankind. Everyone has sinned.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of
God's glorious standard. Romans 3:23
To those who hear His voice—His message--and
respond, God is faithful.
If we say that we have no sin, we are
deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9 NASB
Cleansed—purified. Imagine yourself dazzling
white as snow—clean, pure, stunningly beautiful or handsome standing before the
Lord. Only the pure and righteous will stand before God the Father’s throne in
Heaven. Jesus Christ has been tasked with pronouncing judgment. I think the
judgment process is confusing—but read and study “judgment” in the Bible for
yourself.
But you, why do you judge your brother? Or
you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand
before the judgment seat of God. For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord,
every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God." (Isaiah
45:23) So then each one of us will give
an account of himself to God. Romans 14:10-12 NASB
But remember that they (everyone) will have to face God, who will judge
everyone, both the living and the dead. 1 Peter 4:5
God has spoken—He has promised. If you will only obey me, you will have
plenty to eat…If you turn away and refuse to listen…you will die at the
hand of your enemies. Everyone has to
make their own decision. Obey…or not obey. The choice is yours.
Prayer
~ Lord God, I chose to listen to Your word and follow Your ways. Help me to
focus on the things that matter to You, knowing that it is written in scripture…If
I listen to these regulations and faithfully obey them, You, the LORD my God,
will keep Your covenant of unfailing love, as just as You promised with an oath
to my ancestors. From Deuteronomy 7:12.

Friday’s
Feast at the King’s Table
I love lemony foods and used to make Lemon
Curd standing at the stove for almost an hour stirring these same ingredients
in a double boiler. Now with the help of a microwave oven it is quick and easy to
enjoy a special treat at a tea party or brunch.
Lemon Curd – Tea Party Pastry Cups
8
Tbsp butter
3
Tbsp lemon zest (from about three large lemons)
½
cup fresh lemon juice (from two to three large lemons)
1½
cups sugar
3
large eggs, lightly beaten
2
egg yolks, lightly beaten
One
package of puff pastry cups, baked
Blueberries,
for garnish
Fresh
Mint leaves. For garnish
Heat
the butter in a large glass bowl or measuring cup in the microwave for about 30
seconds so it is slightly, but not completely, melted. Whisk in the lemon zest,
lemon juice, sugar, and then the eggs and egg yolks. Heat in the microwave for
one minute intervals, whisking well in between until it coats the back of a
spoon well. It should take three to four minutes. Strain through a sieve and
refrigerate until cool or overnight. When cool fill pastry cups with Lemon
Curd, top with blueberries and garnish with mint leaves.
Lemon
curd can also be served with scones, pancakes, biscuits, or pound cake for a
tea party treat.
