Now all glory to God, who is able to make
you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has
revealed His plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of
time. But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded,
this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might
believe and obey Him. All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ,
forever. Amen. Romans 16:25-27
What a great benediction that Paul gave to
the Romans at the end of this letter.
Hope for all Gentiles. Hope. They can believe in Jesus as God’s Son—this
was God’s plan. He kept it a secret until the time was right. The Good News of
Jesus had to be given to God’s chosen people, the Israelites, before it was
revealed to the rest of the world—the Gentiles, the non-Jews. What a great
plan. For God so loved the world—everyone
in around world for all time—that He gave (sacrificed) His one and only Son so
that whoever believed in Him would have eternal life. Paraphrase of John 3:16.
He didn’t establish the sacrificial system just for the Jews—but for the whole
world. Some of the Jews embraced Jesus…others rejected Him.
Prayer
~ Glory to You, God, for You are my God and a truly wise, loving God. I feel so
privileged that You have revealed Yourself to me. Open my eyes and the eyes of
my family, friends, and neighbors that we would know and understand You more
each day…beginning now. Glory to God through Jesus Christ. Amen.
