Created and Maintained with His Wisdom

The LORD made the earth by His power, and He preserves it by His wisdom. With His own understanding He stretched out the heavens. Jeremiah 51:15

As I started to write this my husband was watching a documentary about the COSMOS—God’s creation. It is so vast and yet so minuscule. So ingenious, creative, and meticulously created. Amazingly awesome. God is so powerful…and yet humbly gentle. This verse is followed by the verses below.

When He speaks in the thunder, the heavens are filled with water. He causes the clouds to rise over the earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from His storehouses. The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge! The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make, for their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power. Idols are worthless; they are ridiculous lies! On the day of reckoning they will all be destroyed. But the God of Israel is no idol! He is the Creator of everything that exists, including His people, His own special possession. The LORD of Heaven's Armies is His name! Jeremiah 51:16-19.

Our God—the God of Israel and of the chosen ones who believe He is Jesus—is for real. He is not an idol. He is all wisdom, powerful, merciful, just, creator, redeemer, and loving. God is love… But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8.  No need to worship a powerless idol. No need to spend our time and money on transient fixations. Our passions need to be focused on the giver of life…the giver of eternal life. God is the lover of life and the He makes life worth living—from the beginning to the end. Where do you stand with this God—the true God?

Prayer ~ All powerful and loving God…I praise You for who You are—the wise creator who keeps things going and growing with never ending love. Pure, undefiled, unrequited love. For You are Love.
