These things…what things? We have to go back and look at the preceding verses.
God has known us forever. He gave up His Son—His only Son— who died on a cross so
that we could have eternal life with Him. Because of the depth of that sacrificial
gift (justification) for us—all of us—they (God the Father and His Son) will give
us all things—everything we ask for and need. To top it off, Jesus will
intercede for us to the Father. Who can
separate us from the love of Christ? (Romans 8:35). No one—nothing. It is
God’s love and what He has done for us—that is the “these things.” So we have victory in our lives because Jesus loves
us—so much He died for us and was raised from the grave because of His Father’s
love for us. Nothing can keep us separated from God’s love—not our past,
present or future situations, no one, not even death or life itself. Nothing.
What an overwhelmingly comforting promise! God is good. We can trust Him. I
am convinced of His love…how about you?
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, remind me today—every hour—that nothing can separate me from God’s
love. Help me to show and share the love of the Jesus with everyone I meet…even
the strangers in my midst.
