When a person becomes a Christian—they change.
Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus… Since you have heard about Jesus and have
learned the truth that comes from Him, throw off your old sinful nature and
your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let
the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created
to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:21-24 NLT. That is
just how we want to be…to live. In holiness.
But whatever
comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this is what makes a man
unclean and defiles [him]. For
out of the heart come evil thoughts (reasonings and disputings and designs)
such as murder, adultery, sexual vice, theft, false witnessing, slander, and irreverent speech. These
are what make a man unclean and
defile [him]; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean or defile [him]. Matthew
15:18-20 Amplified
As a man thinks in his heart, so he is. Proverbs 23:7. So how is your heart?
Let the Holy Spirit change you—for the better…and look for God’s will for your
life—to be pleasing and obedient to Him.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, refresh my heart, my mind, and my mouth, that all I think, say
and do would be pleasing to You and help others to see that not all church
goers are hypocrites.
