We don’t have to live like others in the
world—in fleshly ways. Sinful ways. We can chose to live holy lives. Why would
we want to do that? Isn’t sin more fun…won’t it make us happy? For just a
fleeting moment it may seem like sin will make you happy…and that is what so
many people are seeking. Happiness. Think of it like a big lollipop. It makes you happy for the time that that
sweet taste is on your tongue…but then too much of it makes your stomach upset…and
too much of it can make your teeth decay. So where is the happiness in an upset
tummy or toothache? We can choose better. Therefore,
having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of
flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1.
Get clean. Get holy. The choice is ours. No sin—like no lollipops—in our lives.
Be led by the Spirit.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name sake (Psalm
23:3) and guide me in the way of the Lord that I will be ready for His return.
Bless also my family, friends and neighbors that they would seek God with all
of their heart, soul and mind; be led by You—and be children of God.
