How’s Your Attitude?

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names….Philippians 2:5-9 NLT

 

An attitude the same as Christ? Wow! That is a lot to ask. I’ve discovered a quick way to change my attitude. Smile. That’s it. Simple little thing like a smile—even if you don’t feel like it. Smile. Try it. Suddenly things seem brighter…clearer. Christ’s attitude was perfect…humble and obedient to His Father. Clearly obedient.  Now with that smile on your face…can you see yourself as obedient to our Heavenly Father? Seeing things clearly makes me want to be obedient. How about you?

 

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, You listen to the Father—and do whatever He says. Help me to listen, hear, and obey doing everything it is that He wants me to do.
