Being adopted into God’s family is one of the best things about knowing
God—about being able to call Him, “Abba, Father.” This is described in
Galatians.
But when the right time came, God
sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom
for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own
children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son
into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Now you
are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has
made you his heir. Galatians 4:4-7 NLT
A passage in Ephesians just about lets you feel the Heavenly Father God’s
arms wrapping around you…
God decided in advance to adopt us
into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is
what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:5 NLT
Adopting us gave Him pleasure—made Him happy! If
that could fill Him with joy—how should it make us feel? Overwhelmed by the love
of the Father? I feel privileged to be part of His family…forever.
RSVP: Jesus is telling us we are not orphans. We may have felt abandoned at
some time in our lives…but we aren’t abandoned or forsaken. God want us to be
part of His family. How will you respond to this message today?
Prayer~ Jesus…my brother, my Savior, my friend, my creator, my sustainer…You
are my everything. You are everlasting, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. I
continually praise Your name and humbly bow before You and the Heavenly Father.
My Abba Father.
