Matthew 5:14-16
♫ This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine. Don’t put it under a basket---let your light shine before men, so that they can see your good works and glorify your heavenly Father.
Food for thought. Food cannot grow without light. Light is essential for human growth, too, for illumination physically and spiritually. Without light we stumble around in the darkness---and may eat some unsavory food or be preyed upon by scary beasts of the dark. But let your light shine---illuminate the way for yourself and others. Put your light on a lamp stand, not hidden under a basket. Share your light---Share Jesus---The Light of the World. Don’t hide His light---don’t be ashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16). Share the power of the gospel, the good news---Jesus power and resurrection---that He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6), as well as the Light of the World (John 8:12). Light is necessary for life---for growth.
Let the Light of the World be your light. Are you letting Him shine through you today?
Lord Jesus, let your light shine in me and through me today.
