Matthew 2
When the Magi left Bethlehem an angel came to Joseph in a dream and told him to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt because Herod wanted to destroy the Child. Joseph obeyed and they lived in Egypt until Herod died, then they went to live in Galilee. Herod did have all the male children under the age of two killed, so Joseph’s obedience saved Jesus. God had a plan.
Egypt. A land of provision for Jacob’s family and now a land of protection for Jesus’ family. Where do we go when we need protection or provision? God protects and provides. We just have to trust Him.
Lord, thank you that we can trust you to provide for us and to protect us.
