Recapping May: Are you spiritually thirsty? Jesus has promised to provide the water of life. That has got to be some of the best news ever. It is finished was Jesus’ proclamation from the cross and He repeats it again near the end of the book of Revelation. What is “finished?” I’ve been told…and read in commentaries…that what was finished is the work that God the Father had given Jesus Christ to do.
And he also said, "It is
finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who
are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. Revelation 21:6 Cross depicting the life of Christ.

It is worth noting that although Jesus’ responsibility was “finished,” God is not “finished” with us yet. This may be the last day of May…but it is not the last day with others here on earth. God still has a plan and we are part of it. He wants us to reach out to others—for Him with the Good News of Jesus’ birth, death, resurrection, and pending return. He is not finished with mankind. His love is greater than the sin, suffering, and selfish attitude of the very people He created. Forgiveness is forthcoming to all who repent and turn to Him. The last day is not the last day. It may be the last day for some who reject Jesus Christ as the Savior and Messiah of Jews and of the world. The choice to repent and choose Jesus is up to each person. What will you choose on this last day of May?
But
if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would
you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be
the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my
family, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15
Meditate. Consider your choice today.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, I choose You. I want to serve You all the days of my life…beginning with today. This may be the last day of May, but it is not my last day with You. Life with You is forever.
Verse of Salvation ~ We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. 1 John 1:1-4
My gratitude for today: Fellowship with God,
family, and friends. Eternal salvation. Hope that is unending.
