| It doesn't matter what language you use... give your praise to the Lord! God knows all languages. Scripture at City of David. Jerusalem, Israel |
Today, many
people are encouraging others to “journal” their daily routine, thoughts, and thankfulness.
I’ve been reading a book, “The Writer’s Diet” in which the author Julia Cameron
encourages her readers to begin their day by writing three pages. Three pages!
I was doing well to write three lines! Hmmmm! Yes, it is time for me to try
journaling again. Another thing that I’ve found is popular, and has been for
several years, is “junk journaling” in which pages of recycled artwork,
magazines, and other printed material are incorporated into a book that has
blank spaces for recording your own thoughts, dreams, and actions. They sell
for a pretty penny…and are easily found at Art Galleries, gift shoppes, and farmers’
markets.
So, I
challenge you, and myself, to spend some time writing “Letters to God” or creating
a praise and thanksgiving list or log of daily gratefulness to the Lord. Will
that bring you closer in your relationship to God…or to Jesus? It certainly
couldn’t hurt. It will be a step forward and give you self-encouragement—possibly
even resulting in the God of love and peace will be with you as Paul wrote
to the church at Corinth.
Now go and write down these words.
Write them in a book. They will stand until the end of time as a witness that
these people are stubborn rebels who refuse to pay attention to the LORD's
instructions. Isaiah
30:8-9
Dear brothers and sisters, I close
my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each
other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with
you. 2
Corinthians 13:11
Meditate. Then pick up your pen and
write your thoughts on how God is working in your life.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, open my eyes
to see how You are working in my life…and help me to write about it.
Verse of Salvation ~ We proclaim to
you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw
him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of
life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And
now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He
was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. We proclaim to you what we
ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us.
And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are
writing these things so that you may fully share our joy. This is the message
we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no
darkness in him at all. 1
John 1:1-5
My gratitude for today: Thank you, Lord, for showing me that my attitude can change, giving me Your grace to change, and teaching me what I can do to be more respectful.
