Prayer – Lord, sunset to sunset—no food…no work. OK. I can
do this…for You.
Ten days later, on the tenth day of the same month,
you must call another holy assembly. On that day, the Day of Atonement, the
people must go without food and must do no ordinary work. Numbers 29:7
Meditate. Consider God’s feast days…and their purpose.
When was the last time you went without food for a day?
Since this Day of Atonement begins at sunset tonight and continues through sunset on Monday, it falls on a normal workday, you may have to go to
work anyway. Taking the day off may not be an option. You can choose to submit
to your work authority in an attitude in your heart…as unto the Lord—that would
be with a repentant heart.
Slaves (workers),
obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the
time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your
reverent fear of the Lord. Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you
were working for the Lord rather than for people. Colossians 3:22-23
No food...just an empty plate. No fish...no loaves of bread. |
Verse of Salvation ~ Now learn a lesson from the
fig tree (Israel). When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout,
you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things (Biblical
predictions) taking place, you can know that his return is very near, right
at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation (those alive when Israel
returned to the Land in 1947) will not pass from the scene before all these
things take place. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never
disappear. Mark 13:28-31
