Prayer – Lord, You hold the most powerful keys—those to
life and death. I choose life—I am trusting that will You open that gate for
me.
I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive
forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave. Revelation
1:18Who holds the keys to your life?
Meditate. Consider Jesus’ words to John.
Keys. Such an important element to have in one’s
possession. Jesus is declaring that He Himself has the power over death, but we
don’t have to be afraid of death.
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley (the valley of the shadow of death), I will
not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and
comfort me. Psalm 23:4
Fear of the LORD is
a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death. Proverbs
14:27
Hang onto these truths.
Can anything ever
separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have
trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger,
or threatened with death? ... And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate
us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither
our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell
can separate us from God's love. Romans 8:35, 38
Jesus holds the keys—but ultimately, He is our Savior—and nothing
can separate us from Him. I am praising the Lord for that truth.
Verse of Salvation ~ For the kind of sorrow God wants us
to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There's no
regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance,
results in spiritual death. 2 Corinthians 7:10
