Meditate. Consider the stars and the stories they tell.
Are you a sky watcher? Do you know the names and locations
of the constellations?
Daniel talks about signs and wonders in the heaven—the sky.
Then King Darius
sent this message to the people of every race and nation and language
throughout the world: "Peace and prosperity to you! I decree that everyone
throughout my kingdom should tremble with fear before the God of Daniel. For he
is the living God, and he will endure forever. His kingdom will never be
destroyed, and his rule will never end. He rescues and saves his people; he
performs miraculous signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth. He has
rescued Daniel from the power of the lions." Daniel 6:25-27 (Underlined
for emphasis.)
The book of Joel, which is quoted here in Acts, reminds us
about the signs in the heavens.
'In the last days,'
God says, 'I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters
will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream
dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and
women alike—and they will prophesy. And I will cause wonders in the heavens
above and signs on the earth below—blood and fire and clouds of smoke. The sun
will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and
glorious day of the LORD arrives. But everyone who calls on the name of the
LORD will be saved.' Acts 2:17-21
The best part of this is the promise that those who call on
the name of the LORD will be saved. Saved from what you might ask? Saved
from an eternity of life without God…of an eternity of torment with evil beings…of
darkness. Personally, I choose an eternal life with God…with Jesus as my Savior.
Serving Him in the new Heaven and New Earth. For now, we’ll just enjoy scanning
the sky—in the eastern sky in the morning searching for signs in the constellation
of Leo.
Where do we find the constellation of Leo? Look for the
North Star in the Big Dipper and look below that. Do you see the Bight Morning
Star in Leo? There will be a backwards question mark, and a triangular group of
stars to the left of that. Who is the Lion of Judah? Jesus (Revelation 5:5).
Note that Jesus also declared Himself to be the Bright Morning Star.
"I, Jesus, have
sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source
of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star." Revelation
22:16
Verse of Salvation ~ Above all, you must live as
citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News
about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I
will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose,
fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Don't be intimidated
in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to
be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. Philippians
1:27-28
