Where is Your Heart Today?

Prayer – Purify my heart, Lord, just like Isaiah wrote. I know that to come into Your presence, God, my heart must be pure—so, I repent of my sins, counting on the blood of Jesus to wash away them away. Do you see my heart white as snow? "Come now, let's settle this," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.” Isaiah 1:18 My treasure is a pure heart—and time with You, Lord.

Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:19-21

Meditate. Consider what you value…treasure.

Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount where He was teaching thousands of people seated on the hillside above the Sea of Galilee, as recorded in both Matthew and Luke. Both Paul and David also wrote about a pure heart and our hearts desire.

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. Titus 1:15-16

Really?
...is a cup of coffee your heart's desire?
Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:3-5

Life—and even what I am called to write about in this blog—is not about me. Life is about Jesus—who has called us through the Holy Spirit to worship the Father God. That should be the focus of our life. God. Nothing else can ever be as important as Him. Just as David wrote in Psalm 37…take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart's desires. The very thought of the Lord being my heart’s desire brings tears of joy to my heart and eyes. He is worthy of all my love and adoration.

Look in the mirror. Do you see purity or corruption? Each person is responsible for their own life—we make choices every day. I’m choosing to be as obedient as I can be to the Lord. I’m not perfect, just a sinner saved by grace. What is your choice? Where is your heart today?

Verse of Salvation ~ If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10
