Prayer – Lord, I’m looking around me…and I don’t see any
evil spirit—but I know from Your word that Satan disguises himself to make us
think he is good—a guiding light! Help me, as well as my family friends, and
neighbors not to be deceived, but enable us to be prepared with eyes wide open
to Your truth, grace, peace, love and guidance. Thank you. Amen.
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty
power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against
all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood
enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against
mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly
places. Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to
resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be
standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body
armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the
Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold
up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation
as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be
persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:10-18
NLTIs this your helmet of salvation?
Meditate. Consider the spiritual aspect of your own life
and that God is spirit.
God is a spiritual being and being created in His image
(see Genesis 1) we have a spiritual aspect to our lives. When Jesus was talking
with the woman at the well, He expressed this same idea.
But the time is
coming—indeed it's here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in
spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that
way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in
truth. John 4:23-24
Since we are spirit beings, we are confronted with other
spiritual entities.
These people are
false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles
of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of
light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as
servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked
deeds deserve. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (Read this passage in the context in
which it was written.)
Put on the Armor of God as Paul wrote to the Ephesians in
the scripture above so that you will be able to resist evil. There is so much
to that Armor of God—His armor of Love. He knows just how to protect us. It is
up to us…we make the choice to “put on our Armor” and let God guard us.
Verse of Salvation ~ As for us, we can't help but thank
God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always
thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation
that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the
truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13
