Prayer – Lord, You finished what You started. Help me, my family and friends to finish what we’ve started—especially sharing the Good News about You.
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ.
It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and
also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight.
This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say,
"It is through faith that a righteous person has life." Romans
1:16-17From Start to Finish...
Get right with God by faith.
No fear. No shame.
Meditate. No fear. No shame.
No shame. I have faith…faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
This passage tells us that the virtuous, blameless, and respectable person has
life—everlasting life, if they have faith and believe in Jesus Christ as their
Savior. That certainly gives me hope—hope for an eternal future and a secure
relationship with Jesus because of the Good News of Christ. That Good News, also
call the Gospel, is Salvation—freedom from sin because of Jesus’ sacrifice on
the cross. Don’t be ashamed of Jesus—or the gospel. Jesus Himself warned His disciples
and the crowd following Him about that very thing.
Then, calling the
crowd to join his disciples, he said, "If any of you wants to be my
follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow
me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up
your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And
what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is
anything worth more than your soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my message
in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that
person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." Mark
8:34-38
Jesus promises us that if we profess to have faith in Him…or
deny Him…He will do the same for us when we are standing before His Heavenly
Father.
Everyone who
acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my
Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny
before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33
So, do you have fear or shame? With Jesus as Your Savior,
you have no need for fear or shame. Just like Jesus, whatever task is put
before you—be obedient to the Lord and…finish it.
Verse of Salvation ~ As my life was slipping away, I
remembered the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.
Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God's mercies. But I will
offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows.
For my salvation comes from the LORD alone." Jonah 2:7-9
