Did I Forget?

If you were looking for this post earlier in the day and missed it then you may have thought that I forgot to write and post it. In the eight years that I have been writing this blog have I ever forgotten? Well, may once. My excuse today is that my internet was down and then…I had other obligations that kept me away from home and my computer…so here I am several hours late.

Job experienced loss and rejection.
My family is gone, and my close friends have forgotten me. Job 19:14

Only part of my family is gone…and close friends have been supportive in the last thirty years and haven’t forgotten me. I have not forgotten God, family or friends. Loss of close family is always just that…loss. Nothing really ever fills that void. God’s love gives hope. Jesus not only took the burden of our sin away, but He gave a promise to those who are feeling down and out.
Old Fashioned Yoke
Let the Lord bear your burdens.
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30

There it is. Jesus will take on our problems. Give Him your cares and worries. The hard part, as my friends recently reminded me, is actually letting go. Trusting Jesus to really take care of us—to take care of you and me. Can you do that? As one friend noted—she gives her worries to Jesus—but she takes them back. Have a little faith. You’ve heard that one before. Trust in the Lord…and rest in His love, grace and mercy. Can you do that?

Now if the internet is working…you’ll see this post. Blessings on you as you cast all your cares on the Lord.

Prayer ~ Lord Jesus, I come to You because I am tired and carry a heavy burden. Please  give me Your rest as You take my problems on Your yoke. I’m learning from You, because You are humble and gentle at heart. In You I find rest in my soul. Your yoke is easy to bear. (From Matthew 11:28-30).  Thank you, Jesus. for caring enough about me to take on my problems and cares.
