Memory Verse of the Week ~
God
saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this;
it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have
done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9
Salvation can’t be bought or “paid for” with good
works or favors. Only Jesus’ blood can “purchase” our salvation by washing away
our sin—making us pure and spotless so that we can enter Heaven…forever. Our
“reward” is that place in Heaven that has been created just for each of us. The
only thing we have to do is believe. The works that may give more stars in those
crowns…but remember those are cast at the feet of Jesus.
And when the living
creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him
who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him
who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will
cast their crowns before the throne, saying, "Worthy are You, our Lord and
our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and
because of Your will they existed, and were created." Revelation 4:9-11 NASB
Are there other rewards? Sure.
And remember that the
heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward
you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during
your time as "foreigners in the land." For you know that God paid a
ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And
the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of
Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him as your ransom long
before the world began, but he has now revealed him to you in these last days.
Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith
and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great
glory. 1
Peter 1:17-21
God has no favorites—and He rewards because of Jesus’
blood shed for us all.
Walking in the light...back to the Lord. |
Prayer ~ Lord Jesus—cleanse my heart
again and make it white as snow. Renew and refresh me once more with the Holy
Spirit. I gratefully rejoice in Your love and all that You have done for me.
Now I bask in Your light, Your love and Your grace, as I walk humbly along on
the pathway back to the Father. I cannot boast of anything I have done. I am
saved by grace.
