Have Confidence

Memory Verse of the Week ~
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

Jesus is creating a home for you in Heaven.
It will be even more magnificent than this castle along the Rhine River.

You have eternal life! Know that! Jesus loves you. God the Father loves you--and you are living forever--yes FOREVER with them!  What a glorious feelimg. My four year old granddaughter, Julia, stopped what she was playing recently and looked me right in the eyes and asked me very seriously "iIs it true that there will be diamonds and jewels in heaven?" "Oh yes" I said..."and streets of gold". She literally clapped her hands with a big smile--eyes twinkling.  Like most four year old girls--and even those over 64...love sparkly things. Heaven is going to be so awesome--beyond our imaginations--but then 4-year olds have great imaginations!

Eternal life is what God has promised us.
So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us. 1 John 2:24-25

Confidence. That is what John gives us in this week's scripture from the Lord. Just before that verse! John gave some qualifications. God's love in unconditional once He knows that the person is serious about his own convictions--his or her beliefs. Actually God's love is totally unconditional--it's just that He doesn't give the gift of eternal life for good works, good looks, good behavior, or family genealogy. He gives eternal life to those who believe. We can have confidence in that.
All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don't believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what God has testified about his Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life. 1 John 5:10-12

So, have confidence in that assurance of eternal life.
This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God--who does not lie--promised them before the world began. Titus 1:2

There is a song in "The Sound of Music" that says... "I have confidence in sunshine. I have confidence in rain...I have confidence in confidence itself...."  Well, I have confidence in God to keep His promises--and to give eternal life those who believe in His Son, Jesus. God keeps His promises. Do you have confidence in God and His promises?

Prayer ~ I praise You, Jesus, for Your willingness to sacrifice Your life for me…for my family, friends and all mankind. Lord God--I have confidence in Your assurance that we will one day live forever with You in Heaven...and that our eternal life begins when we trust that Jesus Christ is our Messiah.
