Later, Jesus appeared again to the disciples beside the Sea
of Galilee. John 21:1
The Sea of Galilee. Just a big lake. Imagine Jesus standing on the shore
in the early morning light, watching His disciples trying to catch fish. Three
years earlier He had taken them from their boats and fishing to make them
fishers of men. Now they were back at it—fishing. He came to see them—knowing
that they were there casting their nets. Tossing them again…and again.
How like those disciples—the fishermen—are we—you and me? Do we go back
to our old ways when we don’t have any specific guidance from our teacher?
Look—is Jesus there on the shore watching you as you cast your net? Jesus is watching you and waiting for you to
do His work—not go back to your old ways. How will you respond to Him today?
Prayer ~ Jesus, precious Savior,
just as You called Your disciples…"Follow Me, and I will make you fishers
of men." Matthew 4:19, I hear You calling me.
