Clothe yourself. Wrap love around yourself…and
around your children, family and friends. What does clothing yourself in love
look like? Are the garments white for purity? Red for blood shed, yellow for
joy, green for growth, blue for renewal, or purple for royalty? So many colors—so
much love. In the book of Isaiah that prophet is telling the Israelites about
their deliverance from bondage…from the Babylonian. Some commentaries indicate
that it may apply to Jesus’ return. Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself
with strength. Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for
unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer. Isaiah 52:1. So
we are to be strong and wear beautiful clothes. As Paul taught the Colossians,
the really important thing is that we are to teach and counsel each other with
God’s wisdom. That implies that we have to get God’s wisdom first. The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom;
and with all your acquiring, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7 NASB. If you
don’t feel you have enough wisdom…ask God for it. Then wrap yourself in love…the
love of God and find someone with whom you can share God’s wisdom. Are you part
of a small group at church or do you have some friends with whom you can
discuss God’s Word? That is a good place to start. Then listen to the Lord and
see where He is calling you. It maybe just in your neighborhood, workplace, or
even with a stranger at the grocery store. There are lots of people out there
who need to hear about the love of God—about Christ and what He has done for
you. So as Paul taught, whatever you do or say—do it as a representative of the
Lord Jesus…and give thanks.
There the Lord is saying…
Let your gentle spirit be known to all men.
The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the
peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is
honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise,
dwell on these things. Philippians 4:5-8 NASB
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His
faithful love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
Prayer
~ Lord Jesus…I give You thanks with a totally thankful heart. May those around
me be blessed by Your love flowing through me and let us clearly hear Your
wisdom and teaching to guide our lives.
