Supportive

Read though Proverbs in August -
Read Proverbs 1

Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Being supportive of another is to come alongside someone sharing your strength and courage in their affliction and time of trouble. This doesn't mean the everyday hohums--but the times of real adversities--the extra burdens in life. Although think of what a joy it is to have a spouse, family member or friend's encouragement on a daily basis! Are you such an encouragement to your spouse, family member or friend who daily faces a heavy burden?

Training Tip - share this verse with your family and talk about what it means to "bear one another's burdens. " Give your child something heavy to carry--too heavy. Then have either another child, yourself or your spouse come alongside and lift the load together. What a memorable example of this verse.

Lord God, thank you for showing us that we don't have to bear our burdens alone.
