God is…Present Everywhere (Omnipresent)

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. Psalm 139:7-8

Meditate. Consider where God is.

God is everywhere. I’ve been seeing God in nature since I can remember—even just as a toddler living in Egypt with my parents. God made so many different animals…from camels that carried the Wise Men to bring gifts to my family when I was born in Bethlehem, to the sheep that I see grazing in fields around Nazareth, to the birds that migrate through Israel, and to the very bugs that crawl around under the rocks that my friends and I tip up—looking for clay in the dirt. We like to mold that clay into little oil lamps for our families.

Plants are amazing in the variety that God created. Flowers—large and infinitely tiny—can be found throughout this Promised Land. The variety of fruits is outstanding. We have such great foods—and many grow right here in our backyard, so to speak, in Israel. We don’t have to import them from Africa, Egypt, or even from Rome. God has provided a great diversity of foods right here in His Promised Land—flowing with milk and honey.

When it rains, which isn’t often in Nazareth, we look for rainbows. That reminds us of Noah, the ark, and God’s promise to never flood the earth again. God is there—up in heaven. I know God is with me, and my Mother reminds me often that as I am obedient, I am growing in favor with God and men. God is with me wherever I am—at home, at the synagogue school, or even along the dusty roadway to Jerusalem as we travel to the Temple for Jewish feast days. God is not just with me, but with everyone. God is present everywhere.

Prayer – Lord God, thank you for being with me…and everyone everywhere. We may have times when we wish we were alone, but I find it very comforting to know that I am never alone—You are with me always. Thank You. I praise You always and forever.

Verse of Salvation ~ As my life was slipping away, I remembered the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God's mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the LORD alone. Jonah 2:7-9
