Can You Sing? Glory Be to the Father!

Prayer – Lord, I praise You with all of my heart! You are worthy of praise, honor, and glory!

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:13b NKJV

Meditate. Consider God’s glory and power.

♪♪♪   Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,

                World without end. Amen. Amen.

This is the Gloria Patri written anonymously in the second century—and sung in some church on a weekly basis. When I was growing up, my church sang it every Sunday near the beginning of our worship time.

Give glory to God…forever. That will be the believers’ eternal purpose; our service to God Almighty. Give Him Glory…for it is His Kingdom in which we live, He is omnipotent—all-powerful, omnipresent—all present, and omniscient—all-knowing.  One of Job’s friends reminded him about God’s power. It is only by God’s love and grace that we even know Him. He gives us everything—even the wisdom to comprehend Him and His power.

Look, God is all-powerful. Who is a teacher like him? No one can tell him what to do, or say to him, 'You have done wrong.' Instead, glorify his mighty works, singing songs of praise. Everyone has seen these things, though only from a distance. Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted. Job 36:22-26 NLT

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.  2 Peter 1:3 NLT

Seek to know God...to know Jesus more each day. Sing songs of praise to Him today! He is an awesome God—worthy of our praise, honor and glory.

Verse of Salvation ~ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God, day and night, has been cast down. Revelation 12:10 NKJV
