Have You Set Your Spiritual Goals?

Prayer – Lord, guide my heart and mind to keep focused on You as I consider my goals for the coming year. You, LORD, will work out your plans for my life—for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138:8

New Life in Christ
Begin this New Year with New Choices
Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth] or away from home [and with Him], it is our [constant] ambition to be pleasing to Him. For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives--the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities]. 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 AMP

Meditate. Consider your goals.

Have you given some thought to your spiritual goals for next year? The month of December is flying by very quickly—it will be Christmas and then New Year’s Eve before we know it! Earlier this month I posted a list of things to consider in your spiritual life. Here are some things to consider when setting Spiritual Goals for the New Year:

1.      What would you like to accomplish spiritually this year?

2.      What attitude or habit needs to change?

3.      How would you like God to use you?

4.      What ministry could utilize your unique gifts?

5.      What ministry could benefit from your leadership?

6.      What level of intimacy would you like to have with God?

7.      What friend would you like to lead to Christ?

8.      Who do you want to be your mentor…and who do you want to mentor?

So, we’ve looked at each of those topics earlier this month and I hope they have inspirited you to think about where you are spiritually…and where you want to be at this time next month, year…even next week. Of course, we all hope for the Rapture—and we hope to be serving God in Heaven before 2024 ends, but we don’t know the hour or the day of that event—so plan ahead and be prepared.

Let me know in the comments section below what your goals are and how you plan to be prepared for the future in 2024.

Verse of Salvation ~ So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 1 Peter 1:13
