Wisdom – It is Yours For the Asking

Prayer ~ Lord Jesus…give us faith like the man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. He prayed to You, God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do and keep me from all trouble and pain!" And You granted him his request.1 Chronicles 4:9-10. With faith, please give us wisdom and understanding.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5

Meditate wisely on God’s word.

There are 202 verses about wisdom in the New Living Translation. That’s a lot of wisdom. James pretty much covers it though—if you need it, ask God for it. Jesus promised to give us anything that we ask for in His name in order to bring glory to the Father. Glory – glory - glory. Glory be to the Father…and to the Son…and to the Holy Spirit.

You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. John 14:13

God is generous. He wants us to have whatever we ask for—as long as it is within His will. He wants to give us the desires of our hearts.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires. Psalm 37:4

The desire of my heart is...
to start each day praising the Lord--
for His greatness....
and to seek Him
for wisdom and understanding.
Thank You, Jesus.

In relationships with people and with God, you have to know each other—your likes, dislikes, dreams, goals…and your heart’s desires. As you know God…and the desires of His heart…you will be more open to sharing your own desires with Him. Likely He knows already. He knows everything. Such wisdom. It is yours for the asking.

Verses of Salvation ~ You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:15-16

Memory Verse of the Week ~ If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5

Coins in the Bible: New Testament Stories

No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Matthew 6:24

Who is your master? God or money?
