Meditate. Consider how knowing God more will deepen your relationship with Him.
When the Lamb broke the
fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of all who had been martyred for
the word of God and for being faithful in their testimony. They shouted to the
Lord and said, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge
the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have
done to us?" Then a white robe was given to each of them. And they were
told to rest a little longer until the full number of their brothers and
sisters—their fellow servants of Jesus who were to be martyred—had joined them.
Revelation 6:9-11Will you wear a white robe?
This title, Sovereign Lord, is
translated from the Greek word despotes, meaning Master or Supreme
Authority. In this case we can understand that God the Father is being
addressed as the Sovereign Lord, as He is the only one who knows when
everything is going to happen. We are told that even Jesus doesn’t know God’s
plan completely. Now some may argue that this verse below only refers to Jesus Second
Coming…but you read it for yourself in the context of what Jesus said, and
decide for yourself.
However, no one knows the day or hour when these things
will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father
knows. Matthew 24:36
Only the Father knows. At any rate, we can count on God the Father, our Sovereign Lord, who has a specific plan for eternity. As long as we believe in Him…and in Jesus as our Savior…then we will be assured of eternity with Him. The decision is up to each of us where we will spend eternity. With God…or away from Him. Personally, I choose God. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I want to know Him more fully…day by day. What is your decision today? We can only hope that we won't have to be martyred, but for Jesus...we can do all things.
Prayer ~ O LORD, I cry out to
you. I will keep on pleading day by day. Psalm 88:13 You are my Master
and my Sovereign Lord…and I trust in You for my future.
Verse of Salvation ~ But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "The LORD is great!" Psalm 40:16
