This is the
last scripture recording “thanks” in the Bible (NASB version). It is exciting
that John saw the Lord God reigning in Heaven. He wins the battle—was there
ever any doubt? God is all powerful, mighty, and worthy of our praise, our
thanks and our worship. Are your prayers overflowing with your thankfulness and
praise? Do you talk to God as if He were a friend in the same room? He maybe
reigning in Heaven, but He is here with us, too.
Training Tip – Teach your children to pray…not the same rote
prayers everyday and every night, “Bless Mom and Dad. Bless this food.” Teach
them to talk to God like they would talk to a friend who is sitting right
beside them. For example…“Lord, thanks. This has been a great day…not because
everything went perfectly, but I just enjoyed being with my friends and my
family, too. I know you were there helping me_____________. Now please give me
a good night’s rest and help my friend with their problem _____ and…help the
lady I saw in the street who couldn’t walk very well (or whatever). Help these
people to know You better.”
Lord, may my dear children and grandchildren live
lives that are always overflowing with thankfulness, always giving thanks to
the Heavenly Father, in Your name, Jesus Christ.
Remembering Vicki today. Her birthday.
