Jesus chose
the faithful way…He did the will of His Father. He had those ten commandments—the
ordinances before Him, just like we do, but He was sinless…For we do not have a high priest (Jesus) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,
but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15. Without sin. We can only
hope to make good decisions day by day and live lives of holiness—where we sin
less. In a small way, we can become like Jesus—if we are determined.
Training Tip – Teach your family the song, “This is My Father’s
World.” It focuses on the beautiful sounds of God’s creation, but one line
stands out—don’t ever let me forget that though the wrong seems often so strong—God
is the ruler. Help your children to understand that the choice is theirs in
life—to follow the right or the wrong.
This is
my Father's world,
and to my
listening ears
all
nature sings, and round me rings
the music
of the spheres.
This is
my Father's world:
I rest me
in the thought
of rocks
and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand
the wonders wrought.
This is
my Father's world,
the birds
their carols raise,
the
morning light, the lily white,
declare
their maker's praise.
This is
my Father's world:
he shines
in all that's fair;
in the
rustling grass I hear him pass;
he speaks
to me everywhere.
This is
my Father's world.
O let me
ne'er forget
that
though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is
the ruler yet.
This is
my Father's world:
why
should my heart be sad?
The Lord
is King; let the heavens ring!
God
reigns; let the earth be glad!
Lord God, create in my children and grandchildren a
pure heart and let that purity of heart be shown in their actions—determined to
live lives of holiness before You.
