When a person
is decisive they stick to what is right and make good decisions. They refuse to
verbally hurt others. Jesus was never abusive, verbally or physically. What a
good example for us. Verbal abuse hurts relationships—those who are actively
involved in the giving or receiving of harmful words—and those who overhear
that abuse, like children. People may think they are in control when they are
verbally abusive, but that is deceptive as it negates respect and ruins their
relationships. Choices must be made, but if habits need to be broken it may
take some time and professional counseling may be necessary. Verbal abuse is
destructive—so decisively agree to not allow that in your family. Respect and
love are the keys to good relationships.
