Prayer – Where can we find people like You, Lord? People filled with the Spirit of God? Thank you for friends and family who are just that—true believers fill with Your Holy Spirit. Fill me with the Holy Spirit anew, let it flow through me today and show me, Lord, how I can serve You now.
Joseph's suggestions were well received by Pharaoh
and his officials. So Pharaoh asked his officials, "Can we find anyone
else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God?" Then
Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams
to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are. You will be
in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I,
sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours." Pharaoh said to
Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt." Genesis
41:37-41
Meditate. Consider the Holy Spirit indwelling in people of
the Old Testament.
Joseph was another man after God’s own heart. He was
obedient to his own father, Jacob, and to our Heavenly Father. Trustworthy.
Loyal. Honest. Wise. Filled with the spirit of God. Joseph listened to God and
gave the Pharaoh not only God’s message, but also the wisdom that was from God
about how to plan for and execute a successful recovery from the famine that
struck the whole world at that time.
Do we listen to God that closely? Are we obedient when we
hear Him? God speaks to us in His Word…the Bible…and in a still small voice
that we can hear, if we listen, just as Elijah did.
"Go out and
stand before me on the mountain," the LORD told him. And as Elijah stood
there, the LORD passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such
a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the LORD was not in the
wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the
earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in
the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 1
Kings 19:11-12
That gentle whisper was the Lord.
Gentle whisper of clouds. Listen for the voice of God speaking quietly. |
Verse of Salvation ~ Then I heard a loud voice shouting
across the heavens, "It has come at last—salvation and power and the
Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our
brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them
before our God day and night." Revelation 12:10
