Prayer – Lord, Daniel was an exceptional man, brilliant,
obedient to You, Lord God, and encouraging to others. He was fearless facing
the lions in that pit of a lions’ den into which he was sent by King Darius—another
king of Babylon, later. Those Babylonian kings recognized Daniel’s devotion to You. Help me to be obedient, like Daniel, so that others see the Holy Spirit in
me.
King Nebuchadnezzar sent this message to the people
of every race and nation and language throughout the world: “Peace and
prosperity to you! I want you all to know about the miraculous signs and
wonders the Most High God has performed for me. How great are his signs, how
powerful his wonders! His kingdom will last forever, his rule through all
generations.” ... At last Daniel came in before me, and I told him the dream.
(He was named Belteshazzar after my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in
him.) "I said to him, 'Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that
the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too great for you
to solve. Now tell me what my dream means. ... "'Belteshazzar, that was
the dream that I, King Nebuchadnezzar, had. Now tell me what it means, for none
of the wise men of my kingdom can do so. But you can tell me because the spirit
of the holy gods is in you.' Daniel 4:1-3, 8-9, 18
Meditate. Consider Daniel as he was filled with the Holy
Spirit.
King Nebuchadnezzar recognized that Daniel was filled…or
had the spirit of the holy gods in him. That is a powerful observation, made by
the ruler of an idol worshipping country with influence over the whole world at
that time. If someone like Nebuchadnezzar could recognize a person following
the true God and filled with the spirit, can non-believers see the same thing
in Christians today? I’ve heard it said that the only Jesus some unbelievers
ever see in the Jesus in Christians. If you are a Christian, how are you
portraying Jesus…how do others see Jesus in you? Is your relationship with God
bringing Him glory, honor, and praise? Do you have the Spirit of the living God
in you?
Verse of Salvation ~ As for us, we can't help but thank
God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always
thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation
that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the
truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13
Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
Time to feast! Did you make hard boiled eggs for Easter?
That is such a family tradition—coloring them with the Easter Egg dyes—but we
didn’t do that this year. Another tradition gone by the wayside. Our big meal on
Easter Sunday was all you can eat sushi—out. That is a real treat. Fresh fish
is always a treat. Think about the first meal that Jesus ate after His resurrection.
Fish. He asked if His disciples had anything to eat…and they gave Him some
fish. Luke 24:14
