Holy Spirit Gives Expertise

Prayer – Lord, I am grateful that You have promised to give the Holy Spirit to Your followers—those who believe in You as Lord and Savior. Once again, I ask You to forgive my sins—the errors of my way—and restore a right heart within me. Fill me fresh with Your love and grace and lead me through the narrow gate. "You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. Matthew 7:13-14”

Filled with the Holy Spirit

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. Exodus 31:1-3

 

Meditate. God chose random people to serve Him.

 

God intentionally chose people and gifted them specifically by filling them with His Holy Spirit. So here is an example of that in the man Bezalel. He is mentioned again a couple of chapters later. Note that the Lord also blessed him and other craftsmen with the ability to teach others their skills.

So the people of Israel—every man and woman who was eager to help in the work the LORD had given them through Moses—brought their gifts and gave them freely to the LORD. Then Moses told the people of Israel, "The LORD has specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. The LORD has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft. And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others. Exodus 35:29-34

Can you imagine the Holy Spirit just giving you information that makes you an expert? Then in addition, you are instantly gifted with the ability to teach…to train others to do just what the Lord needed for His Tabernacle. What will the Lord need from us? Watch for an opportunity. What a privilege to be able to serve the Lord in the way those craftsmen did! The Holy Spirit gave them expertise.

 

Verses of Salvation ~ Though the LORD is very great and lives in heaven, he will make Jerusalem his home of justice and righteousness. In that day he will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD will be your treasure. Isaiah 33:5-6
