The Word of God is True

Meditate.

Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6

Every word…not just some, but every word of God proves true. Every word of the Bible is God’s word. He is the author.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Do you trust God’s Word…the Bible? Do you believe that God’s Word is the truth and that He inspired the authors that wrote it? Is it alive to you? I find that no matter how many times I read the Bible—or passages I’ve read before—I see new things and new applications to my life. It is never boring—just keep reading until you find something that God is trying to teach you. It will happen.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:12-13

We are accountable to God—but if you have a relationship with anyone, you are accountable to them. Seek to know God, obey Him and build your relationship. David gave his son, Solomon, good advice about seeking the Lord.

So now, with God as our witness, and in the sight of all Israel--the LORD's assembly--I give you this charge. Be careful to obey all the commands of the LORD your God, so that you may continue to possess this good land and leave it to your children as a permanent inheritance. And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. - 1 Chronicles 28:8-9 (Underlined for emphasis.)

Are you teachable? Are you seeking the Lord…open to building your relationship with Him?

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORD's blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Psalm 24:1-5 (Underlined for emphasis.)

Prayer ~ Lord God, I am seeking You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. Inspire me today with Your word…that I may apply new truths to my life…and share those with my family, friends and neighbors. As November comes to an end…may we all continue to be thankful for Your love and presence in our lives.

Verse of Salvation ~ You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15
