Are You Too Proud to Seek God?

Meditate. Where will you seek God...will you seek Him?

The wicked are too proud to seek God. They seem to think that God is dead. Yet they succeed in everything they do. They do not see your punishment awaiting them. They sneer at all their enemies. They think, "Nothing bad will ever happen to us! We will be free of trouble forever!" Psalm 10:4-6

The wicked are too proud to seek God. Are you too proud to seek God? As David ordered the Israeli leaders to help Solomon build the Temple.

"The LORD your God is with you," he declared. "He has given you peace with the surrounding nations. He has handed them over to me, and they are now subject to the LORD and his people. Now seek the LORD your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the LORD God so that you can bring the Ark of the LORD's Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the LORD's name." 1 Chronicles 22:18-19 (Underlined for emphasis.)

Whether you seek God at the Wailing Wall...
or in your Bible at home...
you will find Him.
We should not only seek the Lord, but love Him as directed by the Lord Himself to the children of Israel through Moses and written in the Shema.

"Listen, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (Underlined for emphasis.)

God wants us to not only seek Him, but love Him. It is my joy every day to do that—He makes my life worth living. Without Him, my days would be less joyful…dare I say miserable? I am amazed to find the way He touches my life, through sunshine, rain, smiles with my grandchildren, chats with friends, smooth rivers, and intriguing stories in the Bible and other books. I’m not too proud to seek God every day—to try to find new revelations about Him in His word. God is not dead. Seek Him and you will find Him.

How about you? Are you too proud to seek God?

Prayer ~ Dear Lord, You give me grace to stand against evil desires. As Your Scriptures say, "God opposes the proud but favors the humble (Proverbs 3:34)." From James 4:6. Thank you, Lord, for Your grace in my  life—and for humbling me so that I am not prideful, but blessed to seek to know You more each day.

Verse of Salvation ~  And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Luke 7:50

Verse of Thanksgiving ~ Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 136:26
