How Long Will You Delay?

Meditate. Think about time. How long have you lived? How long have you known the Lord?

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. O LORD, come back to us! How long will you delay? Take pity on your servants! Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives. Psalm 90:12-14

Sing for joy to the end of our lives. That would be great. Can we “sing for joy” when we are facing trials, tribulations and persecution? Hang onto the promise that God will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6) during this “delay” that we are experiencing. We don’t know exactly when Christ will return—but it is becoming increasingly evident that it may be soon. Are you ready to face the end of your life?

Prayer ~ Lord, give us wisdom. Our lives may be brief—but we rely on You for all that we have. Please take pity on us and fill us with Your peace, love and joy…as we sing for joy to the end of our lives.

Verse of Salvation ~ But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "The LORD is great!" Psalm 40:16

How are you like Jesus?
God wants us to be like His Son.

And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
1 John 4:17
