Where is Your Heart?

Meditate…and do what the Lord says.
That is why the LORD says, "Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don't tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead." Return to the LORD your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Who knows? Perhaps he will give you a reprieve, sending you a blessing instead of this curse. Perhaps you will be able to offer grain and wine to the LORD your God as before. Joel 2:12-14

While there is time. Return to the Lord. Have you been away from the Lord? Did you know Him as a child…and then you fell away as a teenager or young adult? What will it take for you to return to the Lord? This Scripture passage reminds us that God is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and full of unfailing love.
But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him. - Daniel 9:9

So he (Jonah) complained to the LORD about it: "Didn't I say before I left home that you would do this, LORD? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. Jonah 4:2

So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. Isaiah 30:18

Heavens Will Pass Away
God is incredibly patient. He’s waiting for each person who still is holding out, is coming back to Him…or getting to know Him for the first time. He is waiting…just for you.
The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God's righteousness. 2 Peter 3:9-13

No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too." Luke 13:5
Don’t try God’s patience. Make your decision either for Him or against Him. Repent. Don’t perish without Him.

Prayer ~  Lord, as You said to Joshua before he led the Israelites into the Promised Land… But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD." - Joshua 24:15 NLT. My heart is with You, Lord.
