How Will Your Life Change?

Meditate. Consider how Jesus Christ has changed your life.
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:4-8

After about 60 days of COVID-19 shut-down, stay home, isolation—everyone is getting anxious and tired of this. People are seeking an escape…and perhaps peace—from the strife, the frustration and lack control of their life. There are preachers out there preaching prosperity and peace. There is more to having Christ in our lives than having prosperity and peace. Sure, Christ does give us peace…and no fear. No fear for our future. He gives Hope. Hope for our future…for today and tomorrow…and for eternity. As a gift of the Spirit, He also grants us love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. That can change our lives.

Just as this Scripture tells us… Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. He already knows what we need before we ask…but we still need to ask. Jesus told the crowd listening to Him on a hillside above the Sea of Galilee during His Sermon on the Mount:
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
There were other times He told His disciples and followers to “ask” and seeking those answers will give you something to do today or this week, if you don’t have any other plans. Find ways that God has been working in your life…and thank Him. He deserves your praise and thanks.

Have Hope....like these migrating Sandhill Cranes.
Near West Richland, Washington.
God cares about the birds of the air...He cares about you.
This isn’t a prosperity message—but I hope it gives you hope. God does care about you. So… Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. This is one of my favorite verses…think about things that are good—beyond good—excellent and worthy of praise. Focus on the good stuff…find something good about today. A ray of sunshine—exchanging a smile and wave with a neighbor, a hug from a family member, or phone call to or from and old friend. Have you read a good book or a familiar Bible passage today? Don’t let yourself get down in the dumps. Preaching to myself here! Scripture, like this passage from today, is encouraging to me. What Scripture gives you hope…takes away your fear or provides an escape from your frustration?

Prayer – Dear God, I’m fixing my thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. I’m thinking about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. You, Lord, are worthy of praise and I thank you for all you have done for me, for my family and my friends.
