Have You Had a Taste of the Lord’s Kindness?

When was the last time someone was really kind to you…or when you were kind to someone, maybe a stranger? Do you feel that you have ever experienced the Lord’s kindness?

Kindness
Take my hand and walk with me.

Kindness is described in the Strong’s Concordance (#5543) as a quality of being manageable, mild, pleasant, easy, gracious, or benevolent. Those are all good qualities on their own. Wrap them up together and you’ve the makings of a wonderful potential in an individual. Think about someone you know is who kind and I think you’ll just automatically get a smile on your face. That is the sort of response a truly kind person evokes. It is a virtue for which I personally strive. It can be personally derived but is sincerely exceptional when it is part of the fruit of the Spirit that is bestowed on a person who is living a life that is worthy and bless by the Lord.
Have you had a taste of the Lord’s kindness and experienced it flowing though you to others? How would you rank yourself in the characteristic of kindness? What can you do to improve the kindness that you show to others? Do you really treat others the way you want to be treated? Do you encourage others, particularly your children or grandchildren, to live by the Golden Rule?

The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. Psalm 145:17-19

So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness. 1 Peter 2:1-3

Prayer – Lord God, shower us with Your kindness—that it would flow through us to others.

Meditate. Consider God’s kindness in scripture.

Verses of Salvation ~ Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. But—"When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life." Titus 3:3-7 (Underlined for emphasis.)

How can I pray for you? Let me know in the comment section below.
