Who or What Gives You Hope?

Prayer – Lord, my hope is in You Lord. Creator of Heaven and earth—and all that is within it. Hope of salvation is for everyone.

As we hope in a new morning--
--we hope in the Lord.

But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine. We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone. Psalm 33:18-22

Meditate. Consider hope.

What or who gives you hope? God has promised lots of things including hope.

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:23

God keeps His promises. Promises that began for His chosen people with Abraham when He promised numeral offspring and the Promised Land. This can be read and studied beginning in Genesis 11, continuing through the book of Genesis, particularly when God made His promise to Abram, later renamed Abraham.

The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you." Genesis 12:1-3

God’s promises continued over the centuries and didn’t stop after the time of Jesus. He extended His promises to the Gentiles…and all who believe in Him.

Peter replied, "Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by the Lord our God." Acts 2:38-39

We can rely on God; trust Him; and wait on Him for a future that He has guaranteed—a home in Heaven and a place—or position—in which we can serve Him forever.

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. Hebrews 6:18

Our relationship with God is so important. Nothing is impossible with God. We can place our hope in Him.

So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:6-11

Where are you in your relationship with the Lord? We have choices to make every day…how we spend our time.
