Encourage and Provide

Prayer – Lord Jesus, thank you for giving hope to me so that I can give others and encourage them. I am grateful that God keeps His promises. Help me to find ways motivate others…and myself…to acts of love and good works.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:19-25

Meditate. Consider ways to motivate other Christians.

What motivates you? How can you motivate others to acts of love and good works?

Model of the Temple in Jerusalem

Most Christians are aware that “good works” won’t get anyone saved. It’s actions that are inspired after being saved—an action of service to the Lord. Good works won’t guarantee anyone enters Heaven’s Most Holy Place. When there was a Temple here on earth—in Jerusalem, only the High Priest entered the Most Holy Place once a year. Yet, as believers we will boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. Because He shed His blood for us, He gives us new life…and an opportunity to enter the Most Holy Place. God has promised and He keeps His promises. We can trust Him and go right into His presence. Can you imagine—we can stand in the very presence of the Almighty God? Trust. We can depend on God, believe in Him, put our hope and faith in Him, and know that He loves and cares about us. That is our trust of God is all about.

With that in mind, how can we motivate others to acts of love and good works? Find some worthy project in your community…your neighborhood…your church or even within your family and friend groups. What can you do you may ask? Can you gather and donate canned goods, hygiene items, blankets, underwear, socks, blankets, or tarps for domestic violence services or homeless people, or maybe stuffed animal toys for traumatized children? There are endless possibilities once you start looking. Maybe you just need to encourage others by serving food in a Mission or at a park. There may be a need for a ladies Bible Study taught by ladies…or a men’s Bible Study taught by men. That could be very inspiring for some individuals—just what they need. Weekly spiritual “bread” that you can generously supply with the knowledge that God has already provided and trained within you.

What choice are you making today to serve the Lord, to encourage others?

Verse of Salvation ~ Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people. Jude 1:3
