This is a classic prayer that Jesus taught
His disciples when they asked Him to teach them to pray. Look at the parts of
it…honor the Heavenly Father whose will be done here on earth, just like in
heaven. Ask for daily food—physical and spiritual. Jesus also stressed the need
for forgiveness of mistakes made against us…and for us to forgive others. He
knows that we can be tempted—so He asks that not fall into temptation—but that
we be delivered from Satan’s influence. The Heavenly Father’s kingdom, power
and glory will last forever. That is it in a nutshell. If you don’t know what
to pray—use Jesus’ format as an example.

Jesus is offering us a plan, a guideline for prayer. He just wants us to honor
our Heavenly Father. How will you respond to Him today?
Prayer
~ Heavenly Father, You are holy above all other gods and I honor You. Thank you
for providing for my physical and spiritual needs. Forgive me for the way I
have treated some other people and for my selfish attitude. Protect my heart and mind and keep
me from falling into evil ways. May my life bring you glory and honor—for Your
kingdom will be forever.
