Prayer is such a sweet communion time with
God. It’s nice to pray corporately on Sunday morning…and with Bible Study
groups, but there is something special about having time alone with God. It’s
like having time alone with a special friend—when you don’t have to hurry. You
can just sit and enjoy the conversation and even time when no one says
anything. It is important to listen,
too. If you do all the talking, what good is that? Listen. Shut off your own
thoughts and agenda for even just a few minutes and listen intently. What do
you hear?
RSVP:
Jesus is inviting you today to pray…and to listen to the Father’s voice. It may
be a still small voice or one booming in your heart and ears. How will you
respond to Him today?
Prayer
~ Jesus…thank you for this reminder to pray secretly. Hear the prayers I
whisper into Your ear today. There are so many needs…and praises. As written in Philippians 4:6-7…Be
anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God,
which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in
Christ Jesus. …It is that peace that I seek…and I privately request from You.
