Prayer ~ Lord, whatever I do today…I do it for You.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were
working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give
you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is
Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you
have done. For God has no favorites. Colossians 3:23-25
Meditate. What is work to you?
Prune the roses now for beautiful blooms later. Work as for the Lord. |
What are you working on now? Whatever you do…work at it as if you were working for the Lord…rather than for people. Whether it is creating computer code, ironing shirts, cooking, baking, creating beautiful quilts, paintings, or simply sweeping the floor. Sometimes serving others for the Lord builds your relationship with Him. Give Him glory as you work. Do it for the Lord.
Verses of Salvation ~ Dear friends, you always followed
my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more
important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with
deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and
the power to do what pleases him. Do everything without complaining and
arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as
children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and
perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ's
return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work
was not useless. Philippians 2:12-16
[Note: Salvation cannot be earned through work, it is a
gift from God. We must repent to be saved—but that is not work. Once saved, we
should “work hard” to show the results of our salvation.]

Coins in the Bible: New Testament Stories
No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
